The East Texas Leg of the Trip!

On Friday, we drove out to East Texas to visit my Mom's side of the family. We got into town around lunch time so we had to stop at "The Brown Pig" to have, well, a brown pig. It is hard to explain in my opinion what a brown pig is, to me, its not bar b que, its not sloppy joe, but pork almost like bar b que. Im not sure. Anyways, it is a sandwhich and it is really good! The place is a staple in Marshall and has been around for a long, long time! We met up with my Mom's friend, Laura there. Afterwards, Drew got his haircut by Laura. She has a barber shop in town and she did a great job on his hair. The best part was that it was free! So was lunch! Of course my Mom and Laura knew some people at the restaurant and they ended up paying for the lunch without us even knowing until they were long gone! Nice fellas!

After that, it was nap time. We went back to the hotel and all took naps! Then we woke up around dinner time and Grandma joined us for dinner at IHOP. We pulled all of the fancy stops this time! The dinner was even on Grandma! Thanks!

The next day we went over to Uncle Gene's and Aunt Nancy's for lunch. Uncle Ronnie took Drew out for a ride in his Samurai. Drew kept thinking it was a Jeep, but Ronnie was very quick to correct him! It was nice visiting family and seeing everyone! We havent seen them in a long time. It is fun to go to Marshall because it is such a laid back way of life. It is just a totally different scene there from Provo!

We had a great time and although we didnt do anything spectacular, it was fun, but short. Next installment, Ft. Worth! (Or anything that happens of note between now and Tuesday!)
